Celebrating St David’s Day in Carmarthenshire: Dydd Gwyl Dewi

Carmarthenshire County Council is celebrating St David’s Day, 1 March 2025, with events across the county throughout February and March. The St David’s Flag will be raised at the Council’s main buildings in Ammanford, Carmarthen, and Llanelli from 28 February to 3 March, with County Hall illuminated in red and green on 1 March.

On 1 March, Carmarthen Market will feature a floral display and daffodil planters, with family friendly activities by People Speak Up. Llanelli Market will be also decorated with floral garlands and planters, with performances by Meibion Elli and Music Factory Singers starting at 11am. Visit the markets to collect your St David’s Day supplies.

Theatrau Sir Gâr has organised St David’s Day celebration concerts at its venues. These events are presented in partnership with Loud Applause Productions and will feature talented Welsh performers:

St David's Day Food & Drink Festival at Pembrey Country Park

On Saturday and Sunday, 1 and 2 March, Pembrey Country Park invites you to a Food & Drink Festival. Enjoy artisan and street food, live cooking demos by Georgie Grasso (Great British Bake-Off winner), Nerys Howells, and chefs Saku Chandrasekara, Michelle Evans-Fecci, and Matt O'Doherty.

Carmarthenshire Museums

Parc Howard Museum in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire Museum in Abergwili and the Museum of Land Speed in Pendine are hosting activities for families to enjoy throughout half-term and on St David’s Day. Get more information here

1 March, 10am-12pm - St. David’s Day Card Making

Other events happening across Carmarthenshire:

Llanelli St David’s Spectacular: On 1 March, enjoy live music, food stalls and face painting at St Eli & Llanelli Market from 11am to 4pm.

Llandovery St David’s Day Celebration & Market: Join the street food, farmers' market, live music, and the Welsh cake and bara brith competitions at Llandovery (1 March).

Gŵyl y Daffodil Caerfyrddin: A St David's Day celebration (1 March) in Carmarthen. The Parade leaves at 11am from St Peter's Church, with free parking available.

Menter Dinefwr: A concert by Bois y Castell, featuring Tecwyn Ifan, will take place at Neuadd y Farchnad in Llandeilo on 1 March, 7pm.

Menter Cwm Gwendreath: On 7 March, enjoy a concert at Neuadd Pontyberem and a cawl dinner for the elderly will be held at the Cwtsh in Pontyberem on the 3 March.

National Wool Museum, Drefach Felindre: Head to the National Wool Museum on 8 March for a day of crafts, clog dancing, and special appearances from Magi-Ann. This event is free to attend and runs from 10am to 3pm.
